CSCI 499 Final Project

Purpose

• Follow an agile UX design process
• Learn tools and techniques to support the design process

NOTE: most weeks there will be both individual and team assignments. The individual units will allow us to learn about other important UI topics which either complement or don't fit into the large project scope.

Preparation

You may want to read these chapters ahead of time, then re-read sections as needed during the actual design process:

• LeanUX chapters 3-6
• User's Journey chapters 2-5

Project Options

Two project ideas are described in Project Descriptions. Both projects have a number of potential features, all contributing to some overarching service or value. A project with this scope suits our purpose by:

• Benefitting from a well-defined design process (this would be overkill for a 1-2 page app),
• Requiring a "context story" and consideration of how to communicate the site's purpose to potential end users, and
• Including several pages that can be designed using wireframes and other techniques.

Your team may select one of these project ideas, OR you may suggest another topic of similar scope. I'd be happy to consider a topic you find more appealing, just email your idea(s) to me and we will discuss.
