Part I - Get the Book
As mentioned in class, follow these steps to gain access to our e-book:
Part II - Tell Us About Yourself
You should already have an account for the course on Piazza. If you do not, contact your instructor right away to get added. Once you do have access, please tell us a little about yourself by adding an introductory post to your section. When creating a new post, you can choose to post to your Class Group instead of the Entire Class. Be sure to create this as a NOTE not a question. At a minimum, include the information below as well as anything else you feel is interesting for us all to know. You may find out someone has the same interests as you!
Part III - Email Two Selfies
In order to help us learn all of your names as quickly as possible, please send an email to your professor with two images of yourself. The first should just be an image of your face. The second, please create a sign that has your name displayed and hold it up in view with your face. Be creative! Extra kudos for photos from the rock wall or pool. If you would prefer to not be sending pictures of yourself, then you can introduce yourself personally to your instructor.
NOTE TO SECTION D: Dr. Camp will take pictures of you in class so you may omit this step. Part IV - Survey Says!
First, please complete the following survey titled "What Do Engineers Do?". Use the appropriate link for your section.
Second, please complete this second survey. CS@Mines is thinking about offering new CS degree options (in addition to what is currently offered). These options would combine CS with another discipline in creative ways. For example, you can imagine what a degree in CS+Chemistry might look like, to prepare students interested in working in the cheminformatics field. We also wonder how many CS courses students think should be in other majors (for non-CS majors). We look forward to hearing what you think. Please respond to this survey ONCE. Access the survey here:
Grading Rubric
Your submission will be graded according to the following rubric.
SubmissionThe introductory post must be completed on the Piazza website.
