CSCI 446 Unit #11
Preparation:
Read Chapter 7 in Getting Mean. This chapter has
fewer new concepts, but quite a bit of coding (including some
important error handling). Some of the requirements do not
map exactly to code in the sample application, so be sure
to allow sufficient time to finish this unit.
- Figure 7.1. As you know, we won't cover Angular. But
from our coverage of React you should know what an SPA
is, and this figure shows how the API interacts with
the database (backend), and the front end could be
either an SPA or an MVC framework.
- Be sure you understand how the GET/POST etc. calls
that we tested in Unit 10 will be encoded into the
request options.
- text revision! Pug has changed how
interpolation works. Try:
a(href="/location/" + location._id)
instead.
- text revision. Due to changes in google maps, the code from
the text does not reload map images correctly (new version
appears to require a callback after image is loaded). Since
this is not our primary focus, you can skip the sections related
to displaying the map.
