Let's Hike!

There are lots of trails and lots of hikers in and around Buena Vista - Find Your Match!

If you love to hike, this is the site for you. If you enjoy going up to 10,000 feet, the hikes around Leadville are great. Two favorites are Native Lakes and Timberline Lake. Native Lake is 5.5 miles and 1080 vertical. Timberline Lake is 4.4 miles and an easier 855 vertical. Another fun area close to Buena Vista is Nathrop. Grizzly Lake is 5.1 miles and 1250 vertical, while the Alpine Tunnel is 6 miles and only 500 vertical. Even closer to Buena Vista are the trails in the FourMile area. Tumble Creek is 6.5 miles and 1200 vertical. Davis Meadows is 5.5 miles and 700 vertical. The new Vitamin B trail is a 6.3 mile point-to-point trail with about 1800 feet of descent (or ascent, if you're going in the other direction).

Let me know if you'd like to hike. I would be happy to do one of the trails listed above, or suggest something else in the area. Please give me your name and what days of the week are good for you. Or suggest a specific date and time. It would also be nice (but not necessary) to know what types of hikes you enjoy. Do you prefer hiking to lakes? Strenuous hikes with lots of vertical? Hikes with lots of wildflowers? Maybe you like to take your dog hiking? Would you like to see a map of the trail ahead of time? Some trailheads require a high clearance vehicle - would you be able to drive? Or do you need a ride? Do you like to take a lunch and do a leisurely hike, or do you prefer a more aggressive pace?

If you give me all this info, our site will arrange a hike or put you in touch with other hikers in your area.
